memories of coughing
Oct. 30th, 2003 01:31 pmast night was rough. I was "up" for several hours coughing, but not so up that I was actually awake. In the middle of the night Andrew handed me the cough syrup and commanded me to drink. I was asleep enough to acquiesce without saying anything. I guess it helped, after awhile. I slept in this morning again - 3 days in a row. Knowing how sucky it is to try to sleep next to someone who is coughing, I'd feel bad for Andrew (ok, so I do, but don't tell him! Shhh!!), but since he IS the one that gave me the cold in the first place, I don't feel as bad.
So of course when I looked in the mirror today, I thought "I look old and tired". The lines in my face (which I usually enjoy, since I *earned* them), look deeper, and the bags under my eyes are darker. My hair is doing this weird-ass big thing, but that's ok.
I haven't worked out all week. I'm giving myself today and tomorrow, and I'm starting full bore on Saturday, since that's the day I'm going back on my diet again.
We watched some tv last night, for the first time in a while. We watched Gilmore Girls and Degrassi High The Next Generation (or whatever it's called). (Hey, you take what you can get, with 5 channels)
Degrassi high was like a walk down memory lane. It was AWESOME!!! (Well, I mean, the walk down memory lane was awesome- the writing has gotten kinda bad in parts) I mean, I can't believe this Next Generation show has been on for 2 years already. I remember watching Degrassi, Degrassi Jr. High, and Degrassi High when I was growing up, I mean AVIDLY watching them. I even made a point of watching the first one of these new Degrassi's (I was lucky, it was on one of the channels I got in my old apartment), just for the memories, and to see what they said about the old gang.
It was so wonderful to see Emma grown up, and Spike as a mom and Snake as a teacher. The first one was really really good... Snake was all manly, and oooh it was wonderful.
Fast forward to last night.
Sometime in the last couple of seasons, SPIKE AND SNAKE GOT MARRIED!!! Woohoo!!!!! I just think it is TOO perfect that the two people who made Emma are now married. I mean, she can call him "dad", and it'll be biologically TRUE.
So of course, I had a dream last night about hanging out with Spike and Snake and Joey and Wheels. It was one of those comfortable old friends feeling sort of dreams. It's definitely related to the fact that I'm in that "missing friends" place right now. But if I can't have friends all around me, dreams where I feel that comfortable friend thing is going to have to be good enough.
