I wasn't going to post a lot today because I got worried about my productivity yesterday, but I've already done half again as much as the "average" required for the day, and it's just 11. So I'll have a highly productive day today, which will make up for yesterday, and I can still puke all the extra thoughts out of my brain.
Yesterday was a highly successful diet day! Not only did I do my workout, and my stretches, and make a vegan rice and bean salad that is the yum (even though I don't have tabasco sauce, which the recipe called for), but I felt like I was eating ALL NIGHT to get to the required amount of calories for my day.
I think that this no sugar thing is the key for my body. After all, I've known since I was in University that I'm hypoglycemic. It doesn't OBVIOUSLY affect me as much as used to, but I think it probably affects me subtly. I'm going to wait to see how I feel at the end of the week, and see what the scale says.
So far, the scale says I've lost 3 lbs. In 2 days. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, there is a goddess. I assume it's just water, because sugar holds water in the system much like salt does (and perhaps, more in a hypoglycemic system? I wonder.) But it's a good motivator anyway.
The other reason the no-sugar thing may be good for me is because, although I've been eating lots of stuff with maple syrup and honey, I haven't been wasting my calories on sugar, so I can eat lots in the evenings when I want to.
Woohoo!
We'll see how it continues.
We need a computer. I've decided that we're going to get one asap. I just took a look at Future Shop, and they have a bundled package on sale for $759, including printer and 17 inch monitor, CD RW, and etc. Delivery is free. I think it's worth it. The sale goes until Thursday, though. We were going to get his folks to pay for it, but I don't know if we can get the cash quickly enough for that. So I think I'll just pay for it, and then we'll wait for the $ from them.
I think the sale is at their store as well, but for free delivery, assuming one of us can be home to receive it, doesn't it make more sense for us carless kids to get it delivered?
I'm going to check with Andrew tonight, then go ahead and do it tomorrow (assuming he agrees).
It's past time we had a computer.
Then we're going to have to go to IKEA and get the desk and chair we were looking at (Oh, DARN, not ANOTHER trip to IKEA!!! *grin grin grin*), and then sign our asses up for some internet.
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I am joining the 21st century. Don't worry, there's at least 4 or 5 signs of the apocalypse that haven't occurred yet.
I got my birthday present from my brother yesterday. He wrote an 'article' for me about lifting weights, 7 steps to keep increasing strength. He supplemented it with a fantastic weight training anatomy book. VERRY cool.
I haven't lifted weights since we got here, but on my new plan (Suzanne calls it THE SUPERPLAN!), I'll be lifting again come Dec 1st. It's nice to have my brother's input on that.
I hate personal trainers (and don't trust them), but I love my brother. And even though he has a personal trainer certificate, and was top of his class and all that, he's a bright one. He gives me only his tried and trusted information. I like that.
But anyway.
The 'article' was GOOD! Not just the information, but the tone and things like that. I had to call him right away to tell him. We now have an agreement that once I get a computer and the internet, I'm going to edit the article and send the edited version back to him. I think he could sell an edited version to a newspaper or magazine or something.
I like seeing my loved ones succeed. Don't you?
Heh. It's now 2:39. I've been writing this thing on and off for 3 and a half hours (I've gotten a LOT of work done). I think I'm going to give up and just post it already. :P

Date: 2003-11-05 06:24 am (UTC)You know, I got my laptop for $749. It's a 2.2ghz, 15" lcd screen, dvd/cd-rw, nic, modem, 512mb memory, 30gig hd, the works. I got it at CompUSA which is a big chain here, so I'm sure some sort of chain store might have a similar deal. It's a compaq. Not that I like big chains or compaqs, but it was a good deal.
