I lost ANOTHER pound.
That's right, in 8 days I have lost 6 lbs.
Without refined sugar, the extra pounds just melt away. I love it.
We've been eating a LOT out of this vegan cookbook
I LOVE this cookbook. I mean, we all know I love cookbooks, cooking, and food in general. If I'm depressed, all I have to do is look through a cookbook for a while, and I'll be excited and happy again.
In every other cookbook I have, I end up getting about a 2:1 ratio, or 3:1, of good:dud recipes. It's what I'm used to, and I always figured that different people like different flavour combinations, different vegetables, and etc.
But this cookbook is special. I have not YET tried a recipe that turned out to be a dud. EVERY. SINGLE. RECIPE I have had has been *extremely* delicious. The biggest thing is that at times I double the vegetables called for in a recipe, or halve the fat - but I do that with everything.
Last night I made a simple recipe called "Tanya's Asian Creation". It has squash, tofu, green onion and black pepper over buckwheat noodles, with toasted sesame seeds and soy sauce to garnish (well, Braggs, which is LIKE soy sauce, you can exchange them)
It was divine. Exquisite. Sounds simple, right? It IS simple, to make, but the flavours together were like manna.
So I'm eating like a queen. Hell, BETTER than a queen. I got to have sushi on Saturday, and I've been having all this delicious vegan food otherwise.
*blissful sigh*
Our home feels a lot cozier now that we have a computer. The living room is big enough that, since the tv is in the workout room, it looked empty with just the couch and coffee table (and all those bookshelves). Now that we have our little desk and chair and computer there, everything looks much better. It's a much more comfortable space.
Last night we took advantage of our newly cozy home, and when he came home from work, we had the aforementioned yummy dinner, to candlelight and music, with jasmine tea and conversation. The conversation was homey, nothing deep or meaningful, and special all the more so for that.
And at some point, breathing in the clove incense and sipping my jasmine tea, it all came into focus. Everything's ok now. We've got our home, we've got our time together, we've got our time apart, we've got money stuff happening, we've got plans, we've got hopes, and we've got a COMFORTABLE HOME.
To repeat myself: Life is good.
