Today is a good day.

Last night was a good night.

Andrew, the sneaky devil, met me at work as a surprise. We went to the grocery store, then to our favourite sushi place (sushi paid for by part of an early Christmas present from my father - $50 money order plus $50 gift certificates at Chapters)

Paul and Jang at the sushi place are REALLY nice to us. They always look at Andrew when they talk to us, and ask his opinion on things, but that's ok. I forgive them their bigotry. They're still nice. Last night they gave us an entire roll for free (a very TASTY roll) to "test", AND they gave us a big box of chocolates as a Christmas present!

What sweethearts. We're going to bring them a little jade plant (good feng shui, don't you know, PLUS it's supposed to bring in money).

Then, with groceries and sushi in tow, we went to the Christmas tree place and got our tree, and carried it home.

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

We got us the CUTEST CUTEST CUTEST bushy douglas fir. It's AWESOME. It's the fattest tree I ever had. Hoo Boy! It fairly takes over the living room.

So we put up the tree (which involved rearranging the living room), and then sat at the dining room table and ate sushi while smelling our lovely tree (and listening to a cat demanding some fish).

I spoke to some friends of ours for awhile (as all conversations with these friends do, it started low-brow with talk about SAD-DAM and degenerated into talk about shoving stuff up an angel's ass...), then Andrew and I decorated the tree!!!

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Hooray!!

It didn't take us nearly as long as I remembered it taking the year before. Maybe we have an understanding this time, or something. Or maybe I smoked too much crack last time.

I'm quite proud of our tree, because the decorations are all lights and stars and hearts and animals (proud reindeer and beautiful butterflies and whatnot), and there is NARY a CHRISTIAN ORNAMENT to be found.

Our grapevine/gold star garland/juniper wreath that Andrew made last year is up in the dining area, and a couple little ornaments are around the living room. It's a very happy cozy place!

Hooray!!

Unfortunately, Penelope got a little freaked out by all the commotion last night, and peed on the couch. *sigh* So Andrew has to do laundry today (in addition to all his other house cleaning type things) in preparation for our guests tonight. Poor Bhunny.

So last night was a good night.

I'm a happy camper today - I'm working on a new project, and it looks relatively simple. I'm looking forward to tonight, with our guests and a yummy dinner, and a clean cozy home with a lovely tree and happy kitties.

And a vegan no-sugar chocolate pudding that I made and 'tested' last night.

Oh yes.

It doesn't get more perfect than this.
